EXPEDITIONS NW, INC. - IMPORTANT TOUR INFORMATION

Boarding and Disembarkation

Unless otherwise noted, all beginning of trip boardings and end of trip disembarkations will be from the ExpeditionsNW terminal at the Landing Mall, 115 E. Railroad Avenue, Suite 108, in Port Angeles, Wa 98362.  Our telephone number is 360/452-6210.  We can be reached, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  In the event of an emergency, the telephone is connected to an answering machine or you may email us at info@expeditionsnw.com.  Your  phone call or email will be answered on the next open business day.

Pricing, Payment, and Cancellation Policy

Pricing is in U. S. dollars and all events/adventures including lodging are based on double occupancy.

Reservations are required  to be secured by Visa or Master/Card.

Some tours may include elements, i.e. lodging and/or other included event or adventure service, which may logistically require that there be a minimum and/or maximum number of participants in order to appropriately present the event/adventure. ExpeditionsNW, Inc. may also establish a minimum and/or maximum number of participants for any specific event based on its consideration of passenger comfort and convenience. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, ExpeditionsNW, Inc. reserves the right to reschedule or cancel an event or adventure.

Participant’s credit card will be charged when the minimum required number of participants for the subject adventure or event is reached.  Participant will be notified via telephone or email when the card will be charged.  In an instance where a minimum required number of participants is not reached, you will be notified whether or not, in the sole discretion of ExpeditionsNW, Inc., the event is rescheduled or cancelled.  If you are unable to participate in a rescheduled or cancelled event, your card will not be charged. 

Any excursion(s) or activity (ies) added to an event or adventure at the request of the participant that is/are in addition to those items specified in the event or adventure description i.e. spa treatments, kayaking, inter-island transportation, etc. shall be subject to the cancellation policy of the third party service provider, and participant will be notified if the cancellation policy for the added items is other than the cancellation policy for the basic adventure or event service provided by ExpeditionsNW, Inc.

Events or adventures involving lodging may be subject to as much as a 30 day in advance cancellation policy.  No refunds will be made for a reservation if said reservation is cancelled by the participant within the cancellation period established by the lodging provider. If a reservation involves overnight lodging, and if the cancellation is due to a substantiated medical emergency involving an immediate family member, please notify your adventure agent. ExpeditionsNW, Inc. will request, BUT NOT GUARANTEE,  a refund or partial refund on your behalf.

Adventures or events not involving overnight lodging become non-refundable 48 hours in advance of scheduled departure.  In the event of an emergency, please see Paragraph 1 of this Important Tour Information document.

Parking

There is no free parking at the waterfront and no parking is available at our terminal.  The most convenient parking is available on Railroad Avenue, across the street from our terminal, at a cost of $6 to $10 per calendar day, depending on which lot you choose.  A parking map is available at our website. 

Food Allergies and/or Physical Limitations

In many instances, either abbreviated or full food service will be offered.  Please notify your adventure agent when making a reservation if you have food allergies or sensitivities.

If you have physical limitations or need assistance with boarding/disembarking, please also communicate that information to your adventure agent at the time of making your reservation. In some instances, you may be traversing uneven terrain or encounter other circumstances that may require particular shoe requirements, etc.  Please discuss with your adventure agent when making a reservation.  You will be traveling on a boat and using ramps and docks in preparation for your floating adventure; therefore, dress comfortably, please wear appropriate footwear, always take a jacket, and don’t forget your camera!

Terms of Passenger Carriage

By making a reservation for an adventure, passenger agrees to the following terms and conditions.   If passenger does not agree, passenger may elect to cancel passage subject to the applicable cancellation provisions.  While on the vessel, Passenger shall be subject to the authority of the Captain.

Passenger is advised there are risks involved in water travel and voluntarily assumes those risks and agrees that Expeditions Northwest, Inc. and its officers, owners, operators, agents or employees shall not be liable for any injury, death, or illness of any Passenger or any loss or damage to any personal property of any Passenger except as provided below and may be stated in the Terms of Passenger Carriage. 

In cases of illness, injury or death of a Passenger, Expeditions Northwest, Inc. shall have no liability for infliction of emotional distress, mental suffering, or psychological injury except as limited by 46 U.S.C. 30509.  Expeditions Northwest, Inc. shall have no liability for fault of any third party or independent contractor who provides shore side transportation, lodging, food, or other services to a Passenger.  The following are conditions of any liability of Expeditions Northwest, Inc. for personal injury or death to any passenger:  (1) a claim must be filed with Expeditions Northwest, Inc. within six months after the date of injury or death; (2) any civil action for such injury or death must be commenced within one year after the date of injury or death; and (3) any such civil action shall be brought solely in the United States District Court, Western District of Washington, at Seattle, in Admiralty.

Expeditions Northwest, Inc. reserves the right to cancel, shorten or delay any trip at the sole discretion of the Captain.  Expeditions Northwest, Inc.’s sole liability in such event shall be to refund a pro-rata portion of the fare for the unused trip and not for lodging or meals incurred by Passenger.

Complete Terms of Passenger Carriage are incorporated herein by reference and are available at all Expeditions Northwest, Inc. boarding terminals and onboard Expeditions Northwest, Inc. vessels.                                                      

Travel Outside of the United States

If you are traveling outside of the United States into Canada on your adventure, please remember to bring your passport or other approved identification (please check with your adventure agent), and be prepared to present the full name, date and place of birth of each member of your party at the time of making your reservation.  If traveling with children under the age of 16, please bring a copy of their birth certificate.  If the children are not traveling with both parents, please have a letter signed by the absent parent acknowledging that parent is aware the child is traveling outside of the country.  If children are traveling with other people i.e. grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, please have a letter signed by both parents authorizing the child(ren) to be in their company and authorizing them to permit medical treatment in the event of a medical emergency.
